Catch up with our LEAD trainees

It’s been eight months since we launched our LEAD (Learning, Education And Development) programme, a training initiative aimed at giving our staff a pathway into leadership. We caught up with two of the trainees to find out how the course has impacted their roles.

Career Progression

Carl Ribchester was one of the first candidates to take part in LEAD. “I was fortunate enough to join the first LEAD programme at Tritility,” he said.

“Over the course of six months I’ve benefited from the well-structured classroom tuition and practical exercises, all of which are designed to help participants understand more about Tritility’s business operations, core values and how different personalities communicate and develop.

“The LEAD programme has been an invaluable resource in helping me progress from an Energy Consultant role into team management, providing insightful and usable information about communication, coaching, performance management and team management.”

His course-mate Stephen Brett agreed; “The whole program was designed specifically to test your skills and to give you the relevant knowledge needed to progress into whatever role you aspire to. Due to the LEAD programme, so many changes have happened for me, and all are amazing. I’ve now moved into a new role as a Kickstart Trainer/Team Manager.”

Personal Growth

Candidates also commented on their personal growth in the programme; “My personal brand within Tritility has become so much stronger and my whole work persona has changed,” Stephen told us. “I’m now more confident in managing a group of people. I found that I’m more patient and approachable and can deal with any personal concerns that arise within the team, such as mental health, confidence and self-growth.”

Exceptional Training

Deb Keirl, the leader of the course, has received positive feedback from the trainees; “The LEAD trainer Deb…[explained] every element with such enthusiasm, poise and in so much depth that I felt I understood every part of the module to the fullest,” says Stephen. “Deb was sensational in working at the pace I required, and her knowledge is second to none. I’d like to say thank you to Deb for all her hard work and determination to grow me as a person in and out of work.”

The LEAD Programme is just one of the ways we develop, train and support our staff to meet their goals. If you’re interested in a career where you can grow and learn, take a look at our Careers page.
