Celebrating Learning at Work Week
Putting a spotlight on continuous professional development.
This week is Learning at Work Week, an annual event that puts a spotlight on the importance and benefits of continuous learning.
Learning and development is a topic that means a great deal to us. We provide ongoing opportunities for professional growth, including personalised development plans and fully-funded college courses. We also provide pathways to senior sales and management roles via our LEAD training programme.
From day one, Tritility has engaged in a number of initiatives aimed at creating jobs and promoting social mobility. Such initiatives, including apprenticeships and Kickstart, have earned us numerous awards, including the TELCA Diversity Pioneers Award and ‘World Class to Work For’ accreditation via Best Companies.
LEAD
The LEAD (Learning, Education and Development) Programme is a management training course, designed to act as a stepping stone to a career in leadership. The programme teaches vital management skills, both in a ‘classroom’ setting and via on-the-job training.
The initiative is aimed at nurturing our in-house talent, giving candidates a pathway into leadership. This is a great move for our growing business, as we are now developing a pool of new team managers ready to take on roles as the company expands.
Kickstart
The Tritility Kickstart Academy accommodated up to 22 trainees at a time, all of whom joined us via the government Kickstart scheme. Aimed at 18-24 year olds who were out of work and claiming Universal Credit, it equipped candidates with a wide range of employability skills, as well as specific industry knowledge.
After six months of training, successful candidates graduated as fully-fledged Energy Consultants, helping our clients to save money on their utilities.
Apprenticeships
We’ve been working with apprentices since our earliest days in business. Not only do apprenticeships support social mobility, they provide an excellent alternative to further and higher education, for those who prefer a more practical approach to learning.
We currently have apprentices working in almost every area of the business – marketing, finance, IT, HR and business administration. Apprentices are an integral part of the business.
Continuous Professional Development
We offer fully-funded college courses to all of our staff as part of our benefits package. We work with Sunderland College to offer a range of fully funded distance learning courses.
All of our staff have the chance to work on a personal development plan with the support of their manager – these are discussed at the monthly one-to-one check-in sessions.
If you’re looking to advance your career with an employer who supports your development, visit our Careers page. We have a number of vacancies available across the business.
