Tritility to Create a Further 70 Living Wage Jobs

We have acquired 7,200sqft of additional office space in Jarrow, South Tyneside, following significant growth and expansion over the past 12 months.

Despite the challenges brought by the COVID crisis, we’ve trebled our staff headcount from 30 to 90 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Our Growing Team

We’ve invested heavily in growth – creating an additional 60 COVID-19 Secure, living wage jobs at our office in Washington – which has recently undergone a £200,000 refurbishment.

With the Washington office now at capacity, we have acquired 7,200 square feet of additional office space at Viking Business Park in Jarrow, South Tyneside, with the new premises providing capacity for a further 70 staff to be recruited over the next 12 months.

World Class Employer

We have recently received significant recognition for our commitment to employee wellbeing. Our unique culture has earned us an industry TELCA ‘Diversity Pioneers’ award, and more recently, we have been recognised as ‘World Class to Work For’ by Best Companies, the organisation that ranks the best UK employers, following independent staff engagement surveys.

The Tritility Kickstart Academy

May will also see the launch of our Kickstart Academy, with the support of Sunderland College. The project is aimed at encouraging local unemployed young people into the North-East’s innovative energy sector.

Speaking of the recent growth, Jamie Wyatt, Director at Tritility, said:

“I remain immensely proud of the dedication, effort and hard work of our staff in helping us to achieve all we have over the past 12 months. Our new premises will create much-needed capacity for expansion across all departments within the business, and underpins our intention to continue our rate of growth in 2021 and beyond.

“We put people first” has always been one of our core values and it is incredibly rewarding to see us continue to receive recognition for this whilst growing at such a rapid pace.”

We have leased the newly-refurbished premises from South Tyneside Council, and it’s expected that staff will begin to occupy the new site by the beginning of May.
